一段支撐起大半個世紀城市發展建設的重要歷史，一群用血汗，勞力和無法告人的艱辛尊基城市公共衛生的人們，一段在當時無法言說，如今也只想遺忘的過去。
The story of how a group of dedicated and hardworking labourers have contributed to the building of a city sewage system for nearly half a century.This is a part of history that people failed to speak about in the past, and had intended to forget about in the present.

《去污：檳城夜香工友勞動記錄》吉隆坡首映！
亞答屋圖書館與馬來西亞設計檔案館協辦《去污》吉隆坡首映會，12月16日（六），一起來觀賞這部35分鐘的紀錄片。研究員林士妝、紀錄片剪輯羅貴玲與製作人李嘉霓也將到場分享
Malaysia Design Archive and Rumah Attap Library & Collective 亞答屋84號圖書館 are privileged and excited to have the research team of the acclaimed short documentary "Purge: Documenting the Labours of Penang’s Night Soil Workers" 去污：檳城夜香工友勞動記錄 in Kuala Lumpur this December for the KL premiere of the documentary at The Zhongshan Building at Kampung Attap.
The documentary is approximately 35 minutes-long and uses video interviews and animation to tell the history of night-soil workers (the term refers to those who help collect and dispose of human waste) in Penang prior to the establishment of a modern sewage system in the later part of the 20th century. The documentary is largely narrated in Mandarin and Penang Hokkien with subtitles in English.
The research team will also be sharing their ongoing efforts to set up an online archive documenting artefacts and tools of the trade obtained from the Teoh Heng Kongsi, which was once the hostel of Penang’s night soil workers.
